Welcome to The Miyazakian, a web magazine dedicated to showcasing the charms of Miyazaki Prefecture! I’m Andi, and I lived in Miyazaki City for many years. I have always been drawn to the beautiful beaches and the warm, sunny weather in this region. In particular, I love surfing at Aoshima. The water is always crystal clear and the waves are perfect for riding. Miyazaki has a subtropical climate, which means that it is generally warm and sunny throughout the year. However, the weather can vary depending on the season. In the spring and summer, the weather is warm and sunny, making it the perfect time to hit the beach. In the fall and winter, the weather is cooler and more mild, making it a great time to explore the forests and mountains of the region. No matter what time of year you visit, Miyazaki has something to offer for everyone.
Access
Miyazaki is located on the southern coast of Japan, and there are several ways to get there from various locations around the world. Here are a few options:
- If you are flying from within Japan, you can take a domestic flight to Miyazaki Airport, which is located just outside of the city. Major airlines such as Japan Airlines and ANA offer flights to Miyazaki from major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
- If you are flying from outside of Japan, you can take an international flight to one of Japan’s major airports, such as Narita Airport near Tokyo or Kansai Airport near Osaka, and then transfer to a domestic flight to Miyazaki.
- You can also take the train to Miyazaki. The city is connected to the rest of Japan by the JR Kyushu Shinkansen and express trains, which runs from Fukuoka to Kagoshima and then onward to Miyazaki. Faster is however to take the Bus from Shinyatsushiro to Miyazaki Station or take the around the kyuushu express train along the eastern coast from Kitakyushu via Oita to Miyazaki.
- Highway buses: There are buses to Miyazaki leaving every half hour from Fukuoka Hakata Station and Tenjin. This is a very affordable yet safe and comfortable way to travel. Miyazaki Kotsu prides itself on the cleanliness, and safety of its busses.
Once you arrive in Miyazaki, you can easily get around the city and surrounding areas using the local bus and train systems. Taxis are also readily available
